Recap: Ennis Lions vs. Seguin Cougars
The Ennis Lions were the 45-20 winner over the Seguin Cougars when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Ennis fell just short of Seguin by a score of 37-34. That's two games in a row now that Ennis has lost by exactly three points.
Despite the defeat, Ennis had strong showings from Gracen Harris, who rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and Jeremy Brown , who rushed for 189 yards and two touchdowns.
This is the second loss in a row for Ennis and nudges their season record down to 3-5. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only -3 points. As for Seguin, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ennis will take on Burleson at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Burleson is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Seguin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Midlothian Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Midlothian Heritage has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 174 points over their last four matches.
