Recap: Sergeant Bluff-Luton Warriors vs. Lincoln Lynx
The Sergeant Bluff-Luton Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 64-50 to Lincoln. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sergeant Bluff-Luton of the 50-45 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Lincoln found their leader in underclassman Addie Naughton, who scored 18 points along with seven assists and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Naughton has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hutson Rau, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Sergeant Bluff-Luton's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Lincoln, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-5.
Sergeant Bluff-Luton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tri-Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 20th. Tri-Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sergeant Bluff-Luton in their respective states (Tri-Valley is ranked 58th in South Dakota, while Sergeant Bluff-Luton is ranked 216th in Iowa). As for Lincoln, they will head out on the road to face off against Sioux City East at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Sioux City East will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
