Basketball Recap: Hampton Comes Up Short

Hampton was the 62-57 winner over University School when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hampton Bulldogs were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 66-65 to the University School Buccaneers. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hampton lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Chase Davenport, who went 8 of 18 en route to 21 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Fagan, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards.

Hampton's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for University School, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Hampton will head out to take on Johnson County at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hampton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.8 points per game this season. As for University School, they will be playing at home against North Greene at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. University School is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
