Shaker had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Colonie Central Wolfpack as they made off with a 7-1 victory. This was payback for the Bison, who suffered a 7-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

PJ Strand was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Strand was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Joey Gecewicz looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
