Baseball Game Preview: Montgomery County Indians vs. Blazer Tomcats

The Montgomery County Indians will square off against the Blazer Tomcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Blazer took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Montgomery County, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Montgomery County turned things around against Paintsville on Friday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Tigers. While the Indians didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The team relied heavily on Jaimen Caba, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Jayse Mays was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Blazer fell victim to Boyd County and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 15-0. The Tomcats have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Montgomery County's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Blazer, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
