Basketball Recap: Grand Canyon Find Success

Grand Canyon won the last time they faced Rough Rock, and Tristan Lambon did his part to make sure it happened again. Everything went the Grand Canyon Phantoms' way against the Rough Rock Sun Devils on Thursday as the Grand Canyon Phantoms made off with a 76-50 victory thanks in part to Lambon, who went 12 of 16 en route to 33 points and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Grand Canyon's points.

Mase Begay was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards.

Grand Canyon's win bumped their record up to 4-15. As for Rough Rock, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-20.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Ash Fork the next time they take the court. Grand Canyon will host Ash Fork at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while Rough Rock will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
