Baseball Game Preview: Madera South Stallions vs. Chavez Titans

The Madera South Stallions will take on the Chavez Titans in a tournament on Wednesday.

Madera South's tournament run continued when they took on Selma on Tuesday. The Stallions fell 7-2 to the Bears.

Madera South saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Moles, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Chavez waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Eagles 14-0. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Julian Villarreal's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jacob Sixtos, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Daniel Carrillo was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

Chavez lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since the start of last season.

Madera South has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14-1 record this season. As for Chavez, their record now sits at 12-4.

Madera South came up short against Chavez when the teams last played back in April of 2022, falling 11-7. Can the Stallions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
