Cherry Creek faced Arapahoe in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bruins beat the Warriors by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-3. The victory was nothing new for the Bruins as they're now sitting on 14 straight.

Cael Knobbe looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Mason Scott was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Ari Rothman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Cherry Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arapahoe only posted a batting average of .154.

Cherry Creek's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Arapahoe, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.

Cherry Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
