Volleyball Recap: Schalmont Comes Up Short

Schalmont managed to slip by La Salle Institute the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Sabres lost 3-0 to the Cadets on Tuesday. The Sabres just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

While Schalmont was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into La Salle Institute's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-14, 25-20.

Olivia Dagostino paced Schalmont's offense, picking up four kills. Dagostino really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with eight. Finally, she was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Schalmont's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for La Salle Institute, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Schalmont will challenge Glens Falls at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for La Salle Institute, they will square off against Cohoes at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
