Basketball Game Preview: Reagan Rattlers vs. Johnson Jaguars

The Reagan Rattlers will head out on the road to take on the Johnson Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Saturday, Reagan was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 56-50 to Madison. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Rattlers came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Mavericks are ranked 555th).

Meanwhile, Johnson had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.8 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Saturday. They walked away with a 69-60 victory over the Rough Riders.

Johnson's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points per game. As for Reagan, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-8.

Reagan came up short against Johnson in their previous matchup on January 3rd, falling 43-39. Can Reagan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
