Softball Game Preview: Faith Lutheran Crusaders vs. Bishop Gorman Gaels

The Faith Lutheran Crusaders will venture away from home to square off against the Bishop Gorman Gaels at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Faith Lutheran has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 28.

Faith Lutheran lost 21-1 to Arbor View last Monday.

Faith Lutheran saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elle Balady, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Bishop Gorman faced Green Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Gaels walked away with a 10-7 win over the Gators. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gaels.

MAKAMAE EUGENIO made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up five earned runs off eight hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs and one double while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on SAMANTHA LEFEVER, who fired off two home runs and seven RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. CHARLIE SIMI was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one double.

Bishop Gorman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Bishop Gorman's record is now 11-8-1. As for Faith Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
