Basketball Recap: Keri Foster's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Central over Stranahan

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Central can now relate to. They took a hard 74-57 fall against the Stranahan Mighty Dragons on Monday.

Central's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keri Foster, who went 6-for-11 on his way to 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. Foster's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Justin Suarez, who went 7-for-17 to rack up 14 points and seven boards.

Christian Yeargin had an outrageously good game for Stranahan as he dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten rebounds. Yeargin has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Pradd Maurice, who posted 17 points.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Stranahan, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.

Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stranahan, they will take on St. Brendan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in St. Brendan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 matches.
