Basketball Recap: Panorama Pythons vs. Van Nuys Wolves
After flying high against the Magnolia Science Academy 5 Lobos last Monday, the Panorama Pythons came back down to earth. Panorama took a 57-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Panorama of the 64-39 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Panorama lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alan Rodriguez. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rodriguez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jairo Sandoval, who scored eight points.
Panorama has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for Van Nuys, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Panorama will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chavez is on a seven-game streak of home losses, the Pythons a six-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. Van Nuys will take on the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sylmar's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
