Central Gwinnett (Lawrenceville, Ga.).
The Comets scored 12 points in the first quarter. South Gwinnett scored on a passing touchdown, a touchdown, a touchdown run and a two-point conversion.
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter, SG led 26-7 at the half.
The Snellville school saw its 19-point halftime lead fall to 18 entering the fourth.
Eman Westmoreland played well for the Black Knights. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for two touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to five on the year.
A 63-55 South Gwinnett victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Central Gwinnett, which notched a 51-24 victory over Berkmar in its previous outing. The loss snapped Central Gwinnett's 3-game winning streak. With the win South Gwinnett extended its winning streak to four games.
In a non-conference game next week Central Gwinnett (3-1) takes on Grayson, and South Gwinnett (5-1) will go up against Berkmar in a AAAAAA Region 8 game.
