Baseball Recap: Jefferson Area Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Jefferson Area waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Edgewood Warriors 11-4. With that victory, the Falcons brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Jefferson Area got a great performance from Dylan Myllymaki as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Myllymaki has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mason Kalil, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Tate Hudson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Jefferson Area's record now sits at 12-2-1. As for Edgewood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Coming up, Jefferson Area will look to defend their home field on Saturday against St. John at 11:00 a.m. As for Edgewood, they are taking a road trip to face off against Madison at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
