Volleyball Recap: Hume Has No Trouble Against Ballard

Hume's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Ballard Bulldogs. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Hume was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-21, 25-18.

Baileigh Rogers paced Hume's offense, picking up 11 kills. Rogers got some help from Kenzee Snider and her ten assists. Snider was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Despite the defeat, Ballard saw an underclassman step up: freshman Emmalee Scott had ten digs and one assist.

Hume now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Ballard, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Hume wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Northeast Vernon County on the 24th. As for Ballard, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Appleton City/Montrose on the 17th.
