Recap: Millsap Bulldogs vs. Eastland Mavericks
The Millsap Bulldogs lost against the Eastland Mavericks back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Millsap took a 64-48 bruising from Eastland. While losing is never fun, Millsap can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 558th, while Eastland is ranked 164th).
Despite the loss, Millsap still got an impressive performance from Claire Dale, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. That was a full 35.4% of Millsap's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Berkli Sims, who scored 11 points.
Millsap's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-15. As for Eastland, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 22-5.
Millsap will head out on the road to square off against Dublin at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Dublin is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak. As for Eastland, they will be playing at home against Breckenridge at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Breckenridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Tuesday.
