Softball Preview: Red Bud Musketeers vs. Wesclin Warriors        
        
		
            
 Red Bud has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will  take on the Wesclin Warriors at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Red Bud's pitching crew has only allowed three  runs per game  this season, so Wesclin's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
 Red Bud fought the good fight in their extra-innings  game against Belleville West  on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took  a  10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maroons.
  Julia Ohlau put in work while hitting and pitching. She  struck out eight batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   six  hits. Ohlau has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Ohlau was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Ava Wagner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-5.  Crewe Wagner was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
 Meanwhile, Wesclin beat Christ Our Rock Lutheran 5-1  on Saturday.
  Ava Spalding spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks.
 At the plate,  Lexie Oster was  excellent,  going 1-for-3 with a  home run and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Anna Gall, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Red Bud's loss  ended  a  five-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 18-7. As for Wesclin, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won 12 of their last 13 matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record  this season.
 Tuesday's   matchup will be a test for both team's pitchers. Red Bud hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .403. However, it's not like Wesclin struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .409. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
