Volleyball Recap: Las Plumas Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Las Plumas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Gridley Bulldogs. If the Thunderbirds were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Las Plumas was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-23, 25-5.

Younger Leila paced Las Plumas' offense, picking up five kills. Leila got some help from Jassilyn Saetern and her nine assists. Saetern was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Leading Gridley to victory were Tati Rivero and Isabel Santillan. Rivero had seven digs and five aces, while Santillan had three digs and two aces. What's more, Santillan also posted a 66.7% hitting percentage, which is the highest she's achieved over her last six matchups.

Las Plumas' loss dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Gridley, they pushed their record up to 18-10 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
