Baseball Recap: Bartlett Has No Trouble Against Southbridge

Bartlett's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Everything went their way against the Southbridge Pioneers as they made off with a 10-2 win. Considering the Indians have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Kole Sebastyanski made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adam Phillips, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Luigi Villegas was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Bartlett's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Southbridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

Coming up, Bartlett will be playing in front of their home fans against Oxford at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Southbridge, they will challenge Prouty at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
