Nelson Island skates past Nuniwarmiut with ease

The Nelson Island Islanders can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. They really took it to Nuniwarmiut for the full four quarters, racking up a 98-43 win on the road. With Nelson Island ahead 48-22 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Nelson Island's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charles Maxie, who scored 25 points. Another player making a difference was Brennan Lincoln, who scored 21 points.

Nuniwarmiut lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ethan Williams, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keynon Weston, who scored ten points.

Nelson Island's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points per game. As for Nuniwarmiut, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Nelson Island and Ayaprun will face off at 2:00 p.m. on January 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Nuniwarmiut, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chief Paul Memorial at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. Chief Paul Memorial is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
