Soccer Recap: Fort Lupton Comes Up Short

Fort Lupton and The Academy squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Fort Lupton had to settle for second. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 7-2. While losing is never fun, Fort Lupton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 130th, while The Academy are ranked 34th).

Aaron Guzman wasn't going to let The Academy walk away unscathed as he scored both of Fort Lupton's goals, bringing his season total up to six goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Fort Lupton and nudges their season record down to 9-6-1. As for The Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4-3.

Fort Lupton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for The Academy, they will challenge The Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
