Softball Recap: Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Takes a Loss

If Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley was feeling good fresh off their 15-1 takedown of Paxton-Buckley-Loda last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons came up short against the Monticello Sages on Saturday, falling 9-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Falcons were not able to get on the board.

Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mallory Rosendahl, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Monticello, they pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
