Basketball Game Preview: Hillcrest Trojans vs. Arrowhead Christian Eagles

The Hillcrest Trojans and the Arrowhead Christian Eagles will round out the year against one another at at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hillcrest knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Arrowhead Christian likes a good challenge.

Hillcrest is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Palm Desert just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 64-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Aztecs. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Trojans came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Aztecs are ranked 707th).

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Arrowhead Christian duked it out withYucaipa on Saturday. Arrowhead Christian fell 59-49 to Yucaipa. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Hillcrest's loss dropped their record down to 15-3. As for Arrowhead Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Hillcrest came up short against Arrowhead Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 75-68. Can Hillcrest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
