Western Tech & Environmental Science's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Loch Raven with a sharp 22-0 win. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Connor Brown made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Brown was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Anthony Slaughter was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Jamie House was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
Western Tech & Environmental Science always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .775. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Lansdowne came up short against Parkville on Thursday, falling 11-1. The Vikings have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Lansdowne saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas McCartin, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. That's the most hits McCartin has posted since back in April of 2024.
The win got Western Tech & Environmental Science back to even at 2-2-1. As for Lansdowne, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Western Tech & Environmental Science has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .604. However, it's not like Lansdowne struggles in that department as they've averaged .445. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
