Basketball Recap: Highlands' Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Highlands fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Golden Sierra on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Sierra Grizzlies by a score of 51-48. The Scots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Grizzlies earlier this season, when they won 58-53.

Leading Golden Sierra to victory were Gabe Brown-Aranda and Ethan Caruthers. Brown-Aranda went 7 of 11 en route to 18 points and four steals, while Caruthers dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Those 18 points gave Brown-Aranda a new career-high. Cody Olsen was another key player, putting up five points and five assists.

With the defeat, Highlands broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-5. As for Golden Sierra, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
