The Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs will square off against the Calvary Christian Academy Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Cardinal Gibbons' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over Neumann. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chiefs.
Brenden Trujillo made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February.

In other pitching news, Cardinal Gibbons got a great performance from Mike Ragusa as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Ragusa also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Chiefs are 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-12 otherwise.
Back at the plate, Eddie Marshall was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Calvary Christian Academy waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Golden Tornadoes 13-3.
Like Cardinal Gibbons, Calvary Christian Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Carlos Lugo. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Lugo was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Preston Bielec was a standout: he scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Blake Sundberg was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-5.
Calvary Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pompano Beach only managed six hits.
Cardinal Gibbons' victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 12-9-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Cardinal Gibbons hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Calvary Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 home runs.
