Basketball Game Preview: Broadwater Academy Vikings vs. Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators

The Broadwater Academy Vikings will face off against the Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Broadwater Academy is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Hampton Christian Academy on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Broadwater Academy was dealt a 91-32 loss at the hands of Hampton Christian Academy. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Broadwater Academy had strong showings from Noah Pruitt, who posted 13 points, and Teddy Seybolt, who scored six points. That was a full 40.6% of Broadwater Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Greenbrier Christian Academy). They took down Gateway Christian 67-52 on Tuesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Gators considering their 24-point performance the game before.

Greenbrier Christian Academy's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Broadwater Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Broadwater Academy came up short against Greenbrier Christian Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 55-48. Thankfully for Broadwater Academy, Jonathan Ashe (who went 11 of 27 on his way to 28 points and eight rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
