Basketball Game Preview: Lightridge Bolts vs. Riverbend Bears

The Lightridge Bolts will head out on the road to square off against the Riverbend Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lightridge is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They secured a 50-44 W over Riverside.

Colonial Forge typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Riverbend proved too difficult a challenge. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 42-41 victory over the Eagles. 42 seems to be a good number for the Bears as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Riverbend's win came from a few key players Lightridge will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mikenzi Via, who posted seven points and seven boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Charlotte Mullinax, who put up eight points and four steals.

Lightridge's victory bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Riverbend, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Lightridge didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Riverbend in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 60-55 win.
