Basketball Game Preview: Murray County Indians vs. Sonoraville Phoenix

The Murray County Indians will face off against the Sonoraville Phoenix at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Murray County has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 13.

Last Tuesday, Murray County came up short against North Murray and fell 56-47.

Meanwhile, Sonoraville unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 75-59 bruising from Union County. While losing is never fun, the Phoenix can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while the Panthers are ranked 56th).

Murray County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Sonoraville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Murray County beat Sonoraville 75-64 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Does Murray County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sonoraville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
