Softball Game Preview: Buckeye Bucks vs. Valley Forge Patriots

Buckeye has gone a perfect 10-0 against Valley Forge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bucks will look to defend their home field against the Patriots at 5:00 p.m. Buckeye is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.

Buckeye's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Westlake with a sharp 9-0 win. The Bucks haven't had any issues with the Demons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Not much got past Lilly Young, who gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks to keep Westlake off the board. Young has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Faith Shaw was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted over her last ten matchups. Ava Piovarchy was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Buckeye hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Valley Forge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 10-0 to Rocky River. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Patriots were not able to get on the board.

Buckeye's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Valley Forge, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Buckeye got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Valley Forge by a conclusive 15-0 score. Will the Bucks repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
