Softball Preview: Adair County Indians vs. Campbellsville Eagles

Adair County is 1-9 against Campbellsville since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Adair County Indians will head out on the road to take on the Campbellsville Eagles at 6:00 p.m.

Adair County is is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They fell just short of Casey County by a score of 7-5.

Meanwhile, while Campbellsville put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Burgin. Campbellsville put the hurt on Burgin with a sharp 15-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Campbellsville considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Madeline Call was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Call was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, Lilyan Murphy was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and a triple. Miley Hash was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Adair County's loss dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Campbellsville, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10.

Adair County couldn't quite finish off Campbellsville in their previous meeting on Monday and fell 8-6. Can Adair County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
