The Franklin Indians will challenge the Dundalk Owls at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Franklin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.

Parkville hit Franklin with a five-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians fell just short of the Knights by a score of 7-6.

Lanee Houser and Mia Cleveland did some serious damage despite the final result: Houser went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double, while Cleveland went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jada Lochary, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 18 runs the game before, Dundalk was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They lost 8-2 to Hereford.

Kenisha Gelpi and Makayla Woods stepped up to the plate in a big way. Gelpi went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double, while Woods went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Woods is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Alessa Sergi also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Dundalk, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Franklin has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .492. However, it's not like Dundalk struggles in that department as they've averaged .460. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
