Softball Recap: Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Bourgeois Braves on Friday as Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy made off with a 14-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won four matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Ashtyn Rogers made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Hayden Williamson was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alyvia Palmisano, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Bourgeois, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Looking ahead, Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy will take on Vandebilt Catholic at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy 2.5, Vandebilt Catholic 2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Bourgeois, they have already played their next contest, a 24-5 defeat against Mandeville on the 21st.
