Softball Recap: Ephrata Drops Season-High Score on Lebanon

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ephrata). They were the clear victors by a 21-11 margin over the Lebanon Cedars on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-2 on April 2nd.

Ephrata let Emma Zimmerman and Kaliana Auchey run wild. Zimmerman went a perfect 5-for-5 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs, while Auchey got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Those five hits gave Zimmerman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Olivia Sensenig, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Ephrata always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got Ephrata back to even at 7-7. As for Lebanon, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ephrata will challenge Elizabethtown at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lebanon, they will face off against Lampeter-Strasburg at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cedars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pioneers have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season.
