Basketball Recap: Dillan Purifoy Key Part of a Team Effort in Eagles Win

Pleasant Home is still undefeated this season after their contest against McKenzie on Tuesday, but McKenzie came as close as anyone has to beating them. It was close, but the Pleasant Home Eagles ultimately received the gift of a 72-70 win from a begrudging Eagles squad. That's more bragging rights for they, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Pleasant Home's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dillan Purifoy, who went 8 for 20 on his way to 25 points in addition to eight assists and five boards. Purifoy's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Brody Bryan was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jay Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 boards. Jackson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more boards the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Quay Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten assists.

Pleasant Home pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for McKenzie, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-1.

Pleasant Home wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-61 defeat against Straughn on the 19th. As for McKenzie, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-26 loss against Andalusia on the 19th.
