Softball Recap: Tyngsborough Picks Up Seventh Straight Win on the Road

Tyngsborough barely beat Dracut the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Middies on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kiley Hogan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

In other batting news, Carly Smith was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Arsenault, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Tyngsborough pushed their record up to 2-0-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Dracut, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tyngsborough will square off against Littleton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tyngsborough's pitchers better be ready for this one: Littleton has averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Dracut, they will venture away from home to square off against Non Varsity Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
