Basketball Recap: Heartland Mustangs vs. Center Place
After a string of four wins, the Heartland Mustangs's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Center Place by a score of 28-25. Heartland was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the loss, Heartland still got an impressive performance from Esther Archibald, who scored 17 points along with six steals and two blocks. Archibald is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least four every time she's taken the court this season.
Heartland's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4. As for Center Place, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heartland won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Christian Learning Center is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Center Place, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Buffalos at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully El Dorado Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 45 on Thursday.
