Basketball Recap: Addison Hopper and Maegan Frye Secure Win for Heritage

Heritage entered their tilt with Unity Christian on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They enjoyed a cozy 50-33 victory over the Unity Christian Lions. This was payback for the Hawks, who suffered a 33-26 loss the last time these two teams met.

Leading Heritage to victory were Maegan Frye and Addison Hopper. Frye went 5 for 11 en route to 17 points in addition to six boards and six steals, while Hopper posted ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Hopper a new career-high in rebounds. Brooklynn Powell was another key player, putting up nine points.

Heritage smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Heritage has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season. As for Unity Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-15.

Heritage will head out on the road to square off against Argenta-Oreana at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Unity Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cumberland at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
