Basketball Recap: Putnam Valley Falls to Yonkers Montessori Academy in First Game of Season

Putnam Valley kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They received a blow as they fell 76-58 to the Yonkers Montessori Academy Eagles. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Yonkers Montessori Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Putnam Valley will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Westlake on January 13, 2025. Yonkers Montessori Academy and Irvington will compete for holiday cheer at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Yonkers Montessori Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
