Basketball Game Preview: Western Reserve Blue Devils vs. McDonald Blue Devils

Western Reserve is on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while McDonald is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Western Reserve Blue Devils will host the McDonald Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Tuesday, Western Reserve humbled Memorial with a 60-25 victory. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 20 points or more this season.

McDonald played in conference for the first time on Tuesday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They blew past McKinley 43-22.

McDonald's win came from a few key players Western Reserve will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Gianna Costantino, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Callow, who posted nine points along with five boards and four steals.

McDonald's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-3. As for Western Reserve, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Everything went Western Reserve's way against McDonald in their previous matchup back in January, as Western Reserve made off with a 50-24 win. Will Western Reserve repeat their success, or does McDonald have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
