Softball Recap: O'gorman Wins Going Away Against Brookings

O'Gorman won against Spearfish on Friday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Knights put the hurt on the Brookings Bobcats with a sharp 16-6 win. Considering the Knights have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Vada Ellerbusch was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Kappel, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: O'Gorman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for O'Gorman and bumps their season record up to 7-11. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Brookings, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-8.

As of now, neither O'Gorman nor the Bobcats have any future games scheduled.
