Softball Recap: Maynard Comes Up Short

Maynard lost to Marked Tree back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Tigers came up short against the Indians, falling 10-2. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Maynard saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Koons, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that Koons has hit this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Maynard and nudges their season record down to 6-4. As for Marked Tree, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Maynard will welcome Rector at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Marked Tree has already played their next contest (against Piggott), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
