Soccer Game Preview: Benicia vs. Ygnacio Valley

The Benicia Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Ygnacio Valley Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Benicia is headed into the game having not lost since January 17 and will look to keep things rolling. They and College Park finished up their contest with a 0-0 draw on Thursday. The outcome might've been different if Estuardo Lopez hadn't been hit with a yellow card, which no doubt limited his ability to make aggressive plays down the stretch.

Meanwhile, Ygnacio Valley kept a clean sheet against Concord on Thursday. They skirted past the Bears 1-0. Wolves wouldn't have won without Derek Orellana, who scored the game-winner.

Ygnacio Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those nine games. Benicia's draw gives them a new season record of 11-3-4.
