Basketball Recap: Greenwood Falls Despite Big Games from Jay Duncan and Cj Terrell

If Greenwood was riding high fresh off their 75-55 takedown of T.L. Hanna last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Greenwood Eagles received a blow on Friday as they fell 67-49 to the Woodmont Wildcats. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 78-64.

Greenwood's loss came despite strong showings from Cj Terrell and Jay Duncan. Terrell went 6 for 9 en route to 15 points in addition to six assists and six boards, while Duncan went 5 of 7 on his way to 14 points. Those six assists gave Terrell a new career-high.

Greenwood dropped their record down to 14-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Woodmont, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenwood will venture away from home to square off against J.L. Mann at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Woodmont, they will head out on the road to take on Mauldin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
