Basketball Game Preview: Times Squared Academy Eagles vs. Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights

The Times Squared Academy Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Times Squared Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-42 to Pilgrim. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Exeter-West Greenwich entered their tilt with Achievement First Providence on Tuesday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. They breezed past the Falcons to the tune of 52-13. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-4.

Times Squared Academy better keep an eye on Kate Hebert. She was instrumental in Exeter-West Greenwich's win, going 11 for 14 en route to 22 points along with six steals and five rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Hebert has scored at least a third of Exeter-West Greenwich's points. Another player making a difference was Brielle Frenette, who posted seven points and three steals.

Exeter-West Greenwich pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.4 points over those games. As for Times Squared Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.

Times Squared Academy was dealt a bruising 56-21 defeat at the hands of Exeter-West Greenwich when the teams last played back in December of 2021. Can Times Squared Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
