If Manteo was riding high fresh off their 20-3 takedown of Hertford County on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Redskins fell just short of the Bear Grass Charter Bears by a score of 14-13 on Friday. The Redskins' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Kayla Austin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Dickerson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Manteo's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Bear Grass Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.
