Basketball Recap: Penn-Trafford Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Penn-Trafford won the last time they faced Laurel Highlands and things went their way on Friday too. The Penn-Trafford Warriors walked away with a 74-67 win over the Laurel Highlands Mustangs. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while the Mustangs are ranked 412th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Laurel Highlands still got an impressive performance from Antwan Black, who posted 39 points. Those 39 points gave Black a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Smith, who had nine points.

Penn-Trafford has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Laurel Highlands, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-17.

Penn-Trafford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-45 victory against Baldwin on the 18th. Laurel Highlands does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
