Soccer Game Preview: North Augusta vs. Brookland-Cayce

The North Augusta Yellow Jackets will head out to challenge the Brookland-Cayce Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

North Augusta is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Greenbrier just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. Neither they nor the Wolfpack could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw. The result kept the Yellow Jackets happy, as they haven't lost a game since February 27th.

Meanwhile, Brookland-Cayce kept a clean sheet against Dreher on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Blue Devils 1-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bearcats.

With that draw, North Augusta's record moves to 3-1-2. As for Brookland-Cayce, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Everything went North Augusta's way against Brookland-Cayce when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as North Augusta made off with a 5-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Augusta since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
