Volleyball Recap: Destin Sharks vs. Tate Aggies
Destin lost against Tate back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Destin Sharks fell 2-0 to the Tate Aggies. The Sharks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
While Destin was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by exactly three points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22.
Tate's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aubrey ?Apple? Moodie, who had 14 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailie Merritt, who had seven digs and 14 assists.
Destin's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Tate, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-7.
Destin will square off against Freeport at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Destin is on a ten-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), Freeport a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Tate, they will take on Pensacola at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
